I wish to apologize for the very long time since writing a YVR Chapel Update. However, you may sympathize with me if you hear the reason: Janet & I have been enjoying the company of our immediate & extended family and lifelong friends in my home states of North & South Carolina. I could add that it has also been nice to be in a bit warmer climate for the past 3 months! I am happy to report that the Vancouver Airport Chapel has been operating smoothly over the winter, in the good hands of our very capable Board Members and Chaplains Team. Special thanks to Rosalind Wee and David Holliday for leading those groups!
NEW THINGS: 1. Please enjoy the Newly Refreshed Chapel photos below. Rosalind and her team have done a magnificent job of totally renovating the appearance of the Chapel with a crisp, clean look that is so beautiful! 2. We welcome 2 new Volunteers to our Team, Mark & Evelyn Grossmith, who also serve as Green Coat Volunteers at YVR.
PRAYER ITEMS: 1. We are seeking someone to assist Rosalind in the financial aspects of our ministry. These are not onerous responsibilities, but they add too much to Roz's already full load as Chapel Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. Thanks for praying! 2. We are asking YVR to renew our Partnership-Funding Agreement for another 5 years. Please pray as we work out these arrangements with Airport Authority over the next few months.
PLANS: 1. Our Annual General Meeting is coming up fast, scheduled for Saturday May 6, 10:30am - 12:00noon in Steveston... details to come. Please mark your calendars for this time of food and fellowship around the Chapel Ministry! 2. We are planning to have an Appreciation BBQ this summer for our Chapel Team and Supporters, and it's National Volunteer Week THIS WEEK, April 17-21, so know that all you Volunteers and Prayer Partners are much loved and appreciated!!
Thank you for your continuing interest in the YVR Chapel, Dennis
